Confidence is all about the way you perceive yourself. So, if you want to change your perception, you have to start with that little voice in your head! Affirmations are a way to retrain your brain towards positive, uplifting self-talk.

Start by writing down a few positive “I am” statements, like “I am confident” or “I love myself” (avoid negative framings like “I am not anxious;” while the sentence is ultimately positive, the negative framing puts you in the wrong head space). Place your affirmations somewhere you’ll see them every day, like your bathroom mirror. Then, say them each time you see them! Over time, this will help you rewire your thinking and help you generate confidence and positivity.

Keep Moving

Exercise is great for our bodies, but there are loads of evidence to suggest that it can help our minds, too. The endorphins you get from exercising can improve your mood, help you manage stress, and even boost your self-esteem. To put it simply: exercising makes you feel better in every way!

Now, we’re not saying you have to run a marathon or become a gym rat (unless you want to). But a mere 30 minutes of movement each day can work wonders for your body and mind – and once you get a hit of those endorphins, you’re going to be feeling healthier, stronger, and more confident.

Stand Up Straight

As it turns out, your mom was right all along: standing up straight is a simple, yet powerful step towards becoming more confident. Standing in a “power pose” or simply adjusting your posture can instantly make you feel and look more self-assured. Once that confident posture becomes second nature, it’s simply a matter of “fake it ‘till you make it”!
